Copyright Statement

Pertanika operates under the Copyright Act 1987, the primary legislation that governs copyright protection in Malaysia. A written and signed statement of copyright permission must be provided by the author(s) for Pertanika prior to publication.

Authors are responsible for checking their manuscripts for possible breaches of copyright law (e.g., where permissions are needed for quotations, artwork or tables taken from other publications or other freely available sources on the Internet) and securing the necessary permissions before submission to Pertanika. Copyright violation is a serious ethical issue.

Post-publication

Our publisher, UPM Press, holds the copyright to all published articles. The author(s) should submit the Pertanika's Copyright Permission form to the Managing Editor (pertanika.proceeding@upm.edu.my) once the manuscript has been accepted for publication. Pertanika authors must ask permission to publish their article (or a selection from the article) elsewhere.
